New Melbourne Office

Big news from Melbourne! We officially signed for our new Melbourne office. The Melbourne team has been growing rapidly, from 2 people just a few months ago to a crew of 12 incredible engineers, and they needed a space to match. The new office comes with all the essentials: unlimited snacks, daily Uber Eats, board games (Coup, Avalon, and poker, obviously) and a sauna. If you haven't applied yet, what are you waiting for?

Life at Lyra

Lyra Recaps kept rolling out across Instagram, TikTok & LinkedIn. If you haven't been following along you're missing out on what life here actually looks like week to week. We also finally got the January and February blogs live this month so go read those if you haven't already.

Lyra Fellowship: Cohort 1

We onboarded 17 new fellows into our first Fellowship cohort this month. Manan went through 7,500+ applicants to find them (yep 7,500+). That number still blows our mind and it says everything about how much demand there is for what we're building here. The Fellowship is genuinely one of the things we're most proud of at Lyra and watching it scale like this is pretty surreal.

Melbourne is Booming

At this rate we're going to need a bigger Melbourne office (1 week in and we're already full). The talent pipeline coming out of Melbourne has been ridiculous and this month we even had Sydney people flying down to check out the new space. When your own team is booking flights interstate to be part of what's happening you know you're onto something.

Buka Bersama: Iftar at Lyra 

This one was extra special. On March 6 we hosted Buka Bersama at the Lyra office, breaking fast together with our engineers and Indonesian students from across Sydney during Ramadan. We partnered with 6 Indonesian student societies and honestly the turnout blew us away. 85 people packed into the office and the energy from the moment people started arriving was something else. No eating until the people who were fasting broke their fast, and then it was on — food, conversation, connections being made everywhere you looked. It was one of those events where you realise Lyra is becoming something bigger than just a software company. We're becoming a community hub, and that feels pretty good.
