ReadMe Client Visits

February brought some exciting client side action with visits from the ReadMe team. Having clients come from the US is always a reminder of the real impact our engineers are making. Our ReadMe team with Eddie, Xavier and the team has been shipping consistently, and getting that face to face time with the client only strengthens the partnership. It's one thing to deliver great work remotely but It's another to shake hands, go to escaperooms & have dinner together.

The Chawu Tea Tasting

One of the highlights of the month was the Chawu tea tasting. The team got together for a proper tea experience right in the office, trying out different blends and vibes. It was one of those moments where you look around and think yeah this is why the culture here hits different. Good tea, good people, and a nice break from staring at screens all day.

LyraClubs has 10x

The clubs haven’t slowed down one bit. MMA Club officially kicked off with Parham organising sessions and sorting equipment for the crew. PingPong is booked out almost every weekday in the evenings. Dessert Club did a bubble tea run to Tea Republic with 16 people showing up, reimbursements and all. Futsal is ramping up with a UNSW social sport tourney on the horizon. The Melb Cafe Club is exploring the local scene and it's genuinely amazing to see  how much the team is doing outside of work hours.

Supporting Small Business

This month we made a point to support local : shoutout to Sweet & Me. Supporting small businesses is something we care about at Lyra and when the food is that good it's an easy decision. Expect to see more of this as we continue to build relationships in our local community.

Launching the Lyra Fellowship

We officially launched the Lyra Fellowship and put all the details out into the world. It's a paid, part time training program where engineers join a small cohort of 15, get hands on experience with real tools and technology used by Silicon Valley startups, receive mentorship from engineers who've worked across multiple startups, and earn a guaranteed full time role on completion. We built this because we know takehomes and LeetCode screens don't always capture an engineer's true potential. The response has been overwhelming and we're only getting started.

Welcome!!

February was our biggest intake month yet. Please welcome :

  • Makeen Alaeddin
  • Nathan Chan
  • Anthony Kim (melb)
  • Jerry Zhou
  • Chloe Nguyen (melb)

5 new faces in one month. We're scaling fast and every single one of these people was chosen because they bring something different to the table.February proved that growth at Lyra isn't just about headcount. It's about the office spaces, the clubs, the demos, the fellowships, and the small businesses we champion along the way.
